St. Columba’s has a large facility that can be overwhelming if you’ve never been here before (and sometimes even if you have). These maps can help you find your way around.

Some items of note:

The main Sunday entrance is at the top of the large set of stairs on Albemarle Street. During the week, we ask that you use the street-level Albemarle entrance just to the left of these stairs, which is also handicap accessible. Handicapped access on Sundays is available from the parking lot on Butterworth Street and from 42nd Street, in addition to the street-level Albemarle entrance, which is actually the second floor of the church building.

During the program year (September through early June), the Great Hall on the third floor is home to many of our large gatherings, including two Sunday Eucharists for preschool children and their families, as well as the Sunday Forum, dinner on Wednesday nights and a variety of other parish events.

The Common, also on the third floor, is a large open space between the Great Hall and the church nave. On Sundays, it is usually packed with people seeking coffee and doughnuts between services or promoting upcoming parish activities. Stop by the Welcome table here or in the Great Hall to pick up information about our various programs and events.

The second floor is home primarily to staff offices, meeting rooms, the Craig Eder Library and the Water Ministry. From September through May, various formation programs take place in these rooms, including Wednesdays at St. C’s classes, Sunday School and youth programs. While Sunday School is in session, parents and others often gather in what’s loosely called the “living room” for coffee and conversation.

From September through May, the first floor houses St. Columba’s Nursery School and additional Sunday School classrooms. In late June, July and early August, St. Columba’s Summer Camp uses the space. The playground is reserved during camp and nursery school hours, but open to all at other times of the day and year. It is fully accessible to children with a range of abilities and includes a variety of sensory experiences—with musical instruments, sand play, slides and other structures.
