Assistant Director of Music and Organist
Diane Heath is half-time assistant director of music and organist, and works closely with John Hurd, the director of music in all aspects of St. Columba’s music ministries. Her particular areas of responsibility are directing the Boy Choir and the Chapel Choir, as well as coordinating a Sight Singing program for young choristers, coordinating volunteer instrumentalists and heading up St. Columba’s Organ Scholar Program. Outside of her work at St. Columba’s, she is the 2016–2018 coordinator of Potomac Organ Institute and maintains an active organ and piano teaching studio.
Diane holds a Bachelor of Music in Liturgical Music from Hartt School of Music and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting and Organ from Indiana University. She also has a diploma in Piano Pedagogy from The Levine School of Music. Diane has been on the music staff of St. Columba’s since 1996.
