Planned Giving

Manning the Worship and Music table at the Parish Festival

St. Columba’s is more than a place of worship where we gather on Sunday to give thanks for our many blessings. It is a place with a deep history, an abiding tradition and a visionary future. It is a community institution and a social and spiritual resource. It is a part of us just as we are a part of it.

Each year, parishioners are asked to pledge a portion of their income to support God’s work through this place, and St. Columba’s plans its yearly programs based on those pledges. In order to ensure the continuation of that work, we ask you to consider providing for St. Columba’s in your long-range planning, too.

In the words of a familiar and well-loved hymn, “all good gifts around us are sent from heaven above.” Good stewardship means sharing those gifts with others today. It also means planning for the future of the resources we have accumulated through God’s grace.

There are several ways you can make a gift to St. Columba’s while protecting and even enhancing your own financial well-being. The best plan for you depends upon what you wish to accomplish for yourself, your loved ones and the institutions and causes you support. Given the complexities of the rules relating to tax deductions for charitable giving, it is important that you consult an attorney or professional advisor when planning a gift.
