St. Columba's Episcopal Church

Anona Fowler Retires After 38 Years of Dedicated Service

Date: May 6, 2017

From our Rector ...
Did you know? When you are sick or in need, Anona has prayed for you, has called upon others to pray for you, has found someone to bring you flowers or a meal, or has sent you a handwritten card. Her personal care is and has been a powerful manifestation of her faith and of the love of God.

While Anona has served this congregation in various capacities for the past 38 years, it is her deep compassion, easy warmth, and ready smile that has made her a blessing to us all. While I am selfishly saddened by Anona's decision to retire, I rejoice and give thanks for the love she has shared.

Not surprising, Anona prefers we not make a big fuss over this. So I encourage you to send her a note, and join us for the 11:15 am service on May 21 for a special prayer of thanks.

With deep affection and gratitude, Ledlie

From Anona ...
Dear St. Columba's Family,
It was in the early seventies when Wayne and I came with our family to St. Columba's Church, and the warm welcome we received convinced us immediately that this was to become our church home. We had come seeking healing, and over time received that and far more -- spiritual  enrichment, loving care, deep friendships.

One of the greatest joys of my life is having served on the staff at St. Columba's for almost forty years, helping out in the front office, then as assistant to the rector and currently as pastoral associate. It is time now, however, for me to retire. I will do so realizing how much I shall miss working with the members of our wonderful staff and with each of you. I will forever be grateful to God for this grace-filled place that St. Columba's is for us all and the opportunity I have had to serve here.

With love, Anona
