Sometime in the early morning of Christmas Day, The Rt. Rev. Jane Holmes Dixon made her passage from this world to the next. It’s a hauntingly beautiful thought that Jane made her way to the fullness of light just as the angels were chanting their message of light and joy for the world. At St. Columba’s, we became accustomed to seeing Jane and Dixie with their two grandchildren, Mac and Madeline. They were with us in the Great Hall and more recently (when Mac joined the Boy Choir) at our 9:00am Eucharist. Dixie, their children, grandchildren and all who loved her are in our prayers. This is a loss for the whole church, but also a personal loss for us. Please follow the link to our diocesan website for more information. The funeral will be at the Washington National Cathedral on Sat., Jan. 5 at 10:00am. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
