Living the Gospel requires active global partnership to end extreme poverty. St. Columba’s ministries in the developing world reflect our commitment to the principles of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals.
St. Columba’s sponsors occasional summer work trips in collaboration with the Episcopal Diocese of Honduras and a companion parish. We also support a reforestation project and provide rural families with training and tools to overcome poverty. More>

This group’s vision is to help one another to live our baptismal covenant: to strive for justice and peace in the world and to respect the dignity of every human being. The Fellowship joins St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, the Episcopal Peace Fellowship, the larger Episcopal community and others to sponsor lectures, readings and activities that promote peace and justice. In the past, this group has supported the work of the Episcopal Church in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, which is dedicated to helping rural children and families affected by AIDS and poverty. Although not currently active, this group has had a close connection to the monks of the Order of the Holy Cross, who provide scholarship assistance, tutoring and, beginning in 2009, their own school in Grahamstown, South Africa. We also supported the work of Episcopal missionaries Monica Vega and Heidi Schmidt. Closely associated with the monks of Holy Cross, they organized crucial services for more than 2,000 AIDS orphans on the Eastern Cape. A number of parishioners have made pilgrimages to South Africa and we always look forward to visits by the monks.
