Why Give? God asks us to share our time, talent and treasure. A life of generosity is at the root of Christianity. The Bible encourages the tithe – or 10% of your annual income – and we encourage you to think about what a meaningful gift would be for you.
When you give to St. Columba’s you help fund our ministry in the community, our worship, and the staff that supports our community as we strive to Live God’s Love.
Our mission is funded by you – St. Columbans and other supporters.
St. Columba’s is grateful for your generosity. We accepts gifts in the form of cash, checks, appreciated stocks, Charitable IRA Rollovers, Donor Advised Gifts, and matching gifts. If you would like to include us in your end-of-life charitable gift plans, we accept bequests, life income gifts, and gifts of special assets (real estate, closely held stock, life insurance).

Donate Ingredients for a Family’s Holiday Dinner and/or Help Load or Deliver Holiday Dinner Boxes to Housing Up!
Adopt a family in need this holiday season by providing a box with all the ingredients for a festive holiday dinner. St. Columba’s Episcopal Church hopes to provide holiday dinner boxes to all 114 families in two apartment buildings operated by Housing Up (an organization that develops affordable housing and offers comprehensive support services).
Boxes should contain all of the following ingredients, and enough for a family of 6:
– Either a frozen turkey or two frozen chickens,
– Fresh collards, fresh kale or fresh green beans,
– Sweet potatoes or regular potatoes, or a mix
– Onions, garlic, carrots and bell peppers,
– Optional: bag of rice or box of pasta,
– A pie (carefully wrapped, placed on top of other food inside the box, and cushioned with tissue paper or other packaging material),
– A personal note on a holiday card from you/your family to the recipient family. (Please note that families may belong to a variety of religious traditions.)
– To facilitate delivery and distribution, Housing Up requests that the food be packed in a box, not in bags.
Sign up above to deliver boxes (unsealed so we can add an additional small treat) to St. Columba’s on Dec.17 or Dec. 18. Boxes will be removed from your trunk, contact free, by our volunteers. Boxes should be delivered along the curb on the west side of the block of 42nd Street NW between Butterworth Place NW and Albemarle St. NW on either Dec. 17 or 18 from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.
