Where Do We Go From Here?
A Conversation with Sylvia Burwell, David Ignatius, and Ledlie Laughlin
Five days after the election, in what state will be the fabric of our hearts, our communities, our nation? Seen through eyes of faith, where do we go from here? Sylvia Burwell is the 15th President of American University and the first woman to serve in that role. She served as secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services from 2014-2017, where she oversaw the successful implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and led the department’s response to the Ebola and Zika outbreaks.
David Ignatius is Associate Editor and Columnist for The Washington Post, a fellow of the Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center and the author of eleven novels; The Paladin is his most recent, published in May 2020.
Ledlie Laughlin, rector, will host the conversation.
