Lenten Book Study: Entering the Passion of Jesus: A Beginner’s Guide to Holy Week
March 9, 2022 @ 11:00 am
Lenten Book Study: Entering the Passion of Jesus: A Beginner’s Guide to Holy Week by Amy-Jill Levine– the renowned scholar of New Testament and Jewish studies invites readers to rediscover the events of Jesus’ last week and explore the spiritual and ethical questions that arise as we seek to live God’s love. Arranged as a six-week Lenten study, the book draws us to reflect on the ways in which we relate to Jesus and to the people around him in Jerusalem. How do we encounter the choices and risks that confronted them, and what does it mean for us to be Jesus’ followers today?
Two groups, open to all, will share time for prayer and discussion,
Tuesday evenings starting March 1, 7:00-8:00 pm on Zoom or in person in Room 212 (so those attending the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper can join), and/or Wednesday mornings beginning March 9, 10:00-11:15 am on Zoom.
