Equipping the Saints
Wednesday Evenings at 6:30p in the Great Hall
Imagine all the lessons Jesus needed to teach his disciples to equip them for ministry. Equipping the Saints, led by the Rev. Hillary Raining, is our modern equivalent; it is for leaders in the church AND people who may be curious about stepping up to leadership. This five-week course will include prayer and Bible study as well as practical ministry tips, like how to best use Realm (the church database).
Classes take place on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm from through October 14.
Refugee Response Collection- Home Furnishings for an Immigrant Family
Sundays in September in the Common from 8:45a-12:45p
Our Refugee Response Ministry has expanded its work to accompany both refugee and immigrant families as they build new lives in our community. Through our partnership with the Diocese, we have recently been matched with an immigrant family in need of some of the basics that help turn an apartment into a home.
We will have a collection table in the Common for parishioners who signed up to donate and would like to bring their donations directly to St. Columba’s. Thank you for helping us extend a tangible welcome to our newest neighbors and for continuing to Live God’s Love beyond our walls through generosity, hospitality, and care.
Wednesday Night Suppers Are Back!
5:00 – 6:45p
We hope you can join us for Community Supper on Wednesday evenings. There is an occasional Wednesday when we will have a special service, community conversation or we might have evening prayer, play BINGO but all of them involve fellowship. Bring a friend, bring your family, a neighborhood or pay it forward so someone can come.
There is an opportunity to buy a supper for a guest. Each week we often have several guests from our Water Ministry and the broader community join us at supper. If you would like to make a donation for one supper or several click HERE
Choirs Now Recruiting!
We’d love to welcome new singers to our adult choirs! Whether you’re an experienced singer or simply love to sing, there’s a place for you.
St. Columba Singers is a dedicated group of men and women who enjoy singing and worshiping together. We sing sacred music in a variety of styles and welcome singers from the parish and wider community. The choir sings Sundays at 11:15 am and rehearses Thursdays from 7:30–9 pm, beginning September 3, either in person or on Zoom.
Celtic Choir is our group of adult singers that supports the congregation and choirs at the 9 am service. Rehearsals are Sundays from 10:10–10:30 am in the Music Room, beginning September 6.
Why not give a rehearsal a try? We’d love to have you sing with us this year!
St. Columba Ringers bring the beautiful, distinctive sound of handbells to our worship throughout the year. This group welcomes intermediate and advanced ringers who enjoy making music together and adding a special musical dimension to our services. Rehearsals are Monday evenings from 7–8 pm, beginning September 14.

Daytime Singers meets Thursdays from 11 am–noon and explores the benefits and joy of singing through warm-ups, breathing exercises, vocal techniques, songs, and anthems. Open to singers of all abilities from the parish and community.
Have an hour to spare? Come sing with us! Whether you work from home, have kids in school, or simply enjoy singing, Daytime Singers is a chance to connect, breathe, and share some joy.

Grief Group
Group beginning Wednesday, November 4 at 7p in Room 220
Have you recently lost a loved one? Would you benefit from some support from others who are experiencing grief? Please join us for six Wednesday evenings beginning in early November for prayer, conversation and fellowship. We will gather in room 220 from 7-8p. We will meet 11-4, 11, 18 and 12-2, 9, 16th (we will not gather the week of Thanksgiving).
Benedictine Cell

The Cell is a group that reflects on portions of The Rule of St. Benedict, to consider how the wisdom of this ancient spiritual guidance applies to our contemporary lives. The group is a supportive context for each of us on this journey. All are welcome to participate, regularly, or when you can.
Daytime Singers session with Rosa Lamoreaux

Join Daytime Singers on Thursday, October 1 at 11:00 am for a special session led by professional singer Rosa Lamoreaux! Rosa will lead us through fun and engaging warm-ups, breathing exercises, vocal techniques, songs, and anthems, all centered around the many benefits—and sheer joy—of singing.
This session is open to everyone in the parish and community. You don’t need to be an experienced singer to participate, as Daytime Singers welcomes singers of all ages and abilities.
Come stretch your voice, meet some fellow singers, and enjoy the joy of making music together.

Upcoming Baptisms at St. Columba’s – 2026-2027 schedule
We are changing our schedule of Baptism preparation sessions and registration deadlines beginning this fall. We ask that parents, godparents and the Baptismal candidate (if they are an older child, youth or adult) attend any of the preparation sessions on zoom (7:45-9pm) prior to your preferred Baptism date. If you would like to be baptised or have your child(ren) baptised this year, please register here and make note of the dates for preparation, registration deadline and rehearsal here:
