Pete Nunnally Book Talk Catching Hope: The Hidden Spiritual Wisdom of Fishing
Sun. June 14, 11:45a, in Room 212

The Rev. Pete Nunnally is an Episcopal priest and the founder of Water and Wilderness Church, as well as an avid fisherman. Learn about his work and the spiritual wisdom that can come through fishing. 


Summer Singers
Sundays, Beginning June 14 at 9:45a

Summer Singers is a pick-up choir that forms each Sunday during the summer to learn and share special music for that morning’s worship. The group gathers in the music room at 9:45 am for a quick warm-up, and then prepares an offertory anthem to sing at the 10:30 am service. Singers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to join us each Sunday, June 14 through August 30, or any Sunday you are available.


Watermelon and Waterplay
June 14, 10a in the Courtyard

Wear your bathing suit to church and join us in the courtyard for watermelon, lemonade and waterplay! June 14 is also the day we shift to the summer worship schedule. So gather with us after the 9:15a Wee Worship service (which meets in the Church Nave in the summer) or before the 10:30 am Eucharist service (no 9a or 11:15a starting today, June 14).  


Walk with Episcopalians at Capital Pride
Saturday, June 20 2p

An official contingent from the Episcopal Diocese of Washington will march in this year’s Capital Pride parade on Saturday, June 20. All are welcome! Interested in joining? Let us know by completing this form. The Diocese will share further information about gathering the contingent.


SCAP Commissioning
Sunday, June 21 at 10:30a, in the Nave

This Summer 24 youth and 9 adults are headed to Wise County Virginia for this year’s SCAP trip. We will spend a week working with Grace House on the Mountain and residents in the surrounding neighborhoods to do home repairs and improvements. On June 21, at the 10:30a service, we will be commissioning the youth and adults to go and be God’s hands and feet in this world. We hope you will join us in sending off this incredible team!


Courtyard Concert featuring Wee Worship musician,
Sara Curtin
Sunday, June 21 at 7p, in the Courtyard

We’ve got a family friendly summer concert of contemporary folk pop music coming up on Sunday June 21 at 7p. Bring a chair or blanket and join us in the courtyard to hear our own Wee Worship song leader, Sara Curtin, and her band share an evening showcasing Sara’s “angelic” vocals and original songwriting, as well as some favorite covers. The playground will be open, so kids can explore while enjoying the music. Our Courtyard Concerts are free and open to all in the community. In the event of rain, the concert will be offered inside in the nave.


Baptisms will be offered on Sunday, July 12 at all services. If you would like to be baptized or have your child(ren) baptized, please visit www.columba.org/baptism for more information and a link to the registration form or contact Katie McGervey, kmcgervey@columba.org. Wild Goose Festival 2026
Labor Day Weekend September 3rd- 6th

Join staff member Joy Carroll Wallis at the Wild Goose Festival over Labor Day weekend. Wild Goose is all age and family friendly and would be a great fit for a group of St.Columban families to experience as a group. There is something for everyone! Kids programs, a beer tent (with ‘Beer & Hymns’), amazing musicians, speakers and more.  As a founding board member and board chair she can offer a 20% discount on all tickets to the St. Columba family. The Benedictine Cell

First and third Wednesdays (Last mtg before summer break is 6/17; we resume Sept 16th.)

The Benedictine Cell meets on the first and third Wednesdays of the month, beginning , by zoom, 6p-7p. Contact Marjorie Swett for the zoom link and any questions.

The Cell is a group that reflects on portions of The Rule of St. Benedict, to consider how the wisdom of this ancient spiritual guidance applies to our contemporary lives. The group is a supportive context for each of us on this journey. All are welcome to participate, regularly, or when you can.
