Support Immigrant Families
Sunday, July 5

Each month St. Columba’s Community Response team engages in peaceful protest by packing groceries for neighbors served by our partners in ministry at San Mateo Episcopal Church in Hyattsville, MD.  This effort helps to address food insecurity experienced by immigrant families living among us with fear and stress in these challenging times.  It usually takes less than 40 minutes for a team of 8 to 10 volunteers to pack rice and beans for this program that, with the participation of other parishes, serves over 300 families each month.

Our next packing project will be on Sunday July 5 after the 10:30 am service.  Looking ahead, help is also needed before and after packing day in order to obtain the food and then transport it to Hyattsville.  If you are interested in becoming a regular or occasional volunteer in this ministry, contact John Nolan (nolan.johnm@gmail.com) or Sally Rand (srand1977@outlook.com)

Faith Hike
Saturday, July 11 at 9:30a

Please join the Environment Committee on Saturday July 11 at 9:30 am for a Faith Hike at the Franciscan Monastery Gardens featuring century-old gardens with replicas of sacred shrines, roses and many native plants. RSVP to (khabrams5@gmail.com) for headcount and further logistical details.

Summer Singers
Sundays
at 9:45a

Summer Singers is a pick-up choir that forms each Sunday during the summer to learn and share special music for that morning’s worship. The group gathers in the music room at 9:45 am for a quick warm-up, and then prepares an offertory anthem to sing at the 10:30 am service. Singers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to join us each Sunday, June 14 through August 30, or any Sunday you are available.

Are you feeling Called to Serve on the Vestry?

The Committee needs to nominate parishioners to serve on the Vestry and as Alternate Diocesan Delegates. Please ask parishioners to send the names of potential candidates to Kay Tatum ktatum2000@gmail.com or Andrew Davis andrewgallowaydavis@gmail.com by July 12, 2026.
