The Young Adults Group invites young adults (18 through 30s-ish) to join us for a picnic lunch after the 10:30 service on 8/30. Come enjoy some fellowship with other young adults in our community!

St. Columba’s Ringers
St. Columba Ringers bring the beautiful, distinctive sound of handbells to our worship throughout the year. This group welcomes intermediate and advanced ringers who enjoy making music together and adding a special musical dimension to our services. Rehearsals are Monday evenings from 7–8 pm, beginning September 14.

Daytime Singers
Singing together can reduce anxiety, stimulate memory, increase lung capacity, and foster connection, belonging, and joy.
Daytime Singers meets Thursdays from 11 am–noon and explores the benefits and joy of singing through warm-ups, breathing exercises, vocal techniques, songs, and anthems. Open to singers of all abilities from the parish and community.
Have an hour to spare? Come sing with us! Whether you work from home, have kids in school, or simply enjoy singing, Daytime Singers is a chance to connect, breathe, and share some joy.

DC127 Kids Day Out At St. Columba’s
Want to Volunteer? Training takes place in August and September
On Saturday October 3rd, 9am-2.30pm, St. Columba’s is hosting a DC127 ‘Kids Day Out’ This is a day that offers respite to foster parents and parents who need a break. DC127 runs the day and brings trained volunteers. As the host church, we provide a simple kid friendly lunch and snacks. There are 2 opportunities to help. If you would like to be a volunteer for the morning, you will need to complete a DC127 training in either August or September.
- We need volunteers to buy or order, pick up and serve the lunch. Those who do this do not need to be trained. Contact Courtney at chundley@columba.org for details.

Summer Singers
Sundays at 9:45a
Summer Singers is a pick-up choir that forms each Sunday during the summer to learn and share special music for that morning’s worship. The group gathers in the music room at 9:45 am for a quick warm-up, and then prepares an offertory anthem to sing at the 10:30 am service. Singers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to join us each Sunday, June 14 through August 30, or any Sunday you are available.
Wild Goose Festival 2026
Labor Day Weekend September 3rd- 6th
Join staff member Joy Carroll Wallis at the Wild Goose Festival over Labor Day weekend. Wild Goose is all age and family friendly and would be a great fit for a group of St.Columban families to experience as a group. There is something for everyone! Kids programs, a beer tent (with ‘Beer & Hymns’), amazing musicians, speakers and more. Art All Night
September 12th, from 7 to 9pm
Join us on Saturday, September 12, from 7–9 p.m. for Art All Night, Washington, D.C.’s signature free, citywide multidisciplinary arts festival!
In St. Columba’s Common, you’ll discover an inspiring mix of art across disciplines, enjoy organ music, and experience the peaceful reflection of an indoor labyrinth accompanied by vocal and instrumental music from Harmonic Introductions. Come explore, listen, create, and connect with our community.
The event is free and open to all—no reservations are required. We hope you’ll join us!
Bluegrass Evening Prayer Service
Sunday, September 13th at 5pm
Y’all come join us as our own Joy Carroll Wallis teams up with the Shedkickers for a worship service filled with prayer, scripture, and good old-timey music. We’ll bring the joyful sounds of bluegrass into our nave, weaving together readings, hymns, and songs accompanied by banjo, mandolin, guitar, and upright bass. Come as you are, bring a friend, and share in a service of faith, fellowship, and music that’ll lift your spirit.

Wednesday Bible this fall: the stories of Ruth and Joseph
Join with the Wednesday Bible group this fall to explore two rewarding stories– the Book of Ruth (beginning September 9) and the Joseph Narrative in the Book of Genesis (in mid-October.) Both feature families in challenging times and compelling characters who cross ethnic boundaries to help fulfill God’s purposes. All are welcome at any meeting, on zoom Wednesdays at 10 am.
