St. Columba’s welcomes all persons desiring Baptism to receive the sacrament here at St. Columba’s. We are excited to welcome the newly baptized and their family into our community and the Body of Christ!
Baptism is typically offered on significant Sundays in the Church’s calendar year. It is also typically a joyous celebration where the whole community welcomes and promises to support the newly baptised. In this time of COVID-19 when we are not doing live services, we are offering private baptisms at a time that is mutually convenient for your family and St. Columba's. If possible, we will then share photos of your baptism during our pre-recorded Sunday services so the whole congregation can celebrate with you. Please complete the registration form and we will reach out to you to arrange your or your child's baptism.
We ask that the baptismal candidate, their parents (for children), and their sponsors (Godparents) attend a preparation class and rehearsal. We will arrange the timing and location of this discussion before the date of the baptism. This conversation is a chance for us to learn more about one another and the meanings and symbolism of Baptism.
